Some people choose to set New Year’s Resolutions for the upcoming year. My advice on the matter is to set goals — both long-term and short-term — for your life. However, there is no significance to the New Year. Set your goals when you feel inclined to do so. And make them realistic and measurable. That’s all I have to say on the topic for now. The focus of this message is something else this week.
Build Positive Experiences!
It is actually a simple concept. Do things that make you happy and incorporate them into your daily life. Think of all the domains of your life: personal, family, spiritual, marriage, social, educational, physical health, career/job, recreational, mental health, retirement, community, etc. Can you find pleasure in each of these domains?
Be mindful. Engage in pleasurable activities. Be present in the moment and fully experience the moment. You cheat yourself if you are just going through the motions while you are thinking of the things that you need to do later.
