This weekend afforded me the opportunity for reflection on the consequence of hard-fought achievements. Some achievements just carry so much more meaning — most likely due to the effort and sacrifice necessary for them to come to fruition.
With that said, what motivates people to continue to push toward goals? How do people persevere when obstacles are placed in their path? Wouldn’t it just be easier to quit or to do something else? Couldn’t we justify the obstacle as a sign that it was not “meant to be?” What motivates you? Specifically, what motivates you to continue your practice of DBT skills? How can you use the power of self-discipline to aid you in your practice?
