What does “Be like Water” mean to you?
Before reading further, think about this image: What are the attributes of water? Why would you want to be like water? Form your own opinions and make a mental note before continuing.
Here are two excerpts from articles on this idea:
“‘Be like water,’ has become extremely meaningful to me, especially lately. I’ve discovered the less I force things to happen, and the more accepting and calm about my life’s direction I am, the easier I can flow with and live my life. During the intuitive reading I had the other day, I was asked what worry does for me. I responded that it makes me sick. In response to that, my reader told me that it makes me (us) rigid. We become closed to the possibilities, opportunities, and positive energy that would come to us. If we allow ourselves to surrender, breathe, trust, and simply let go, then we can accept the goodness that comes. If we surrender our rigidity, we can be free…like water.”

“So how are some ways we can practice this attitude? Think of all the times you’ve been forced into a new situation. Maybe it’s something benign like going to an unfamiliar coffee shop or maybe it’s something more serious like losing your job. What have your reactions been like?
For most people change, no matter how small, is at the very least uncomfortable if not completely terrifying. The natural reaction when people are forced into a new situation is to flee or to fight to get back to the way things were. Instead, try to be more like water. Let go of all that energy you’re wasting trying to cling to the old way things were and let yourself reshape to fit your new surroundings.”
