Try some self-reflection this week. Pay attention to your emotions and reactions throughout the day. If a feeling bubbles up, take a moment to figure out where it is coming from.
This can be for both negative and positive feelings. Sometimes we overlook the positive ones and focus on the negative ones.
What defense mechanisms are coming into play? Why are you having this feeling in this situation? If you don’t like it, what can you do about it? Remember that your feelings are your own and that you are in control of them. Nobody made you feel this way. You have the power (and the tools) to evaluate and re-frame your thinking process to affect your emotion. You are in control. Don’t give your control away by blaming someone else.
